Naturally Pamino.

The Time Aspect

PAMINO provides you with a large selection of wood types and parquet floorings. You can choose from thicknesses of 8, 10, 15, 16 and 22 mm. Furthermore, this diversity of varying wood types and pattern choices enables you to design your rooms in your own individual fashion. That's why you should make your decision for a parquet floor early on, especially with new constructions, because this allows you right from the start to coordinate different floor screed heights, wood colours and patterns with your particular home furnishings.

New Construction
Remember as well that before they are ready for flooring, normal floor screeds require 4 to 6 weeks in drying time, depending on their thickness and the construction time. For heating screeds, you also need at least 14 days for pre-heating and cooling prior to flooring (PAMINO Leaflet: Pre-Heating and Cooling of Heating Screeds)). An anhydrite screed must be prepared punctually in advance (sanding, brushing, etc.) Make sure your planning includes the application of a moisture barrier between the concrete and the floor screed layer. This will prevent moisture from emerging later from the concrete surface. This is particularly important with today's quick construction times. Inspection of the flooring readiness of sub-flooring is conducted by a flooring specialist within the framework of his or her prescribed inspection obligations. Since this person bears the attendant responsibility, he or she alone decides whether and when the sub-flooring is ready. This specialist also has the tools and knowledge necessary for conducting the inspections. Rely therefore on his or her advice. Also remember that prior to starting the parquet work, as much of the other handicraftsman work as possible should be completed. Painting and wallpapering work can be carried out later with careful protection of the parquet surface. Caution is advised for glaziers, painters, tilers, etc., who are using sealants containing silicone. Silicone stains on parquet are virtually impossible to remove. The same applies for dishwashing detergent and cleaning agents. Sealing will not adhere to these areas. Ideally, acrylic-based sealing compounds should be used. To lay the flooring without problems, the room temperature should not be below 15° C. Humidity should be between 50 to 60% if possible.

Older Structures / Renovation
You only have to consider the time for removing the old flooring. The sub-flooring must be rid of residue from the old flooring and must be clean and dry if the parquet is to be glued over the entire surface. An old floor screed layer should be inspected first for stability and possible cracks. Then the new parquet flooring can be glued, or multilayer parquet can also be laid using the floating method (without gluing to the sub-flooring). To lay the flooring without problems, the room temperature should not be below 15° C and humidity should be between 50 to 60% if possible.
