Oiling - Waxing - Sealing Today there are a number of possibilities to protect your parquet flooring from moisture and dirt. The most common method is sealing, conducted today primarily with environmentally-friendly, solvent-free water-based lacquers. With PAMINO – Multilayer Parquet, the parquet elements are already given a UV-tempered acrylic layer or oxidate oil impregnation on modern paint conveyor lines during production. PAMINO – Solid Parquet on the other hand is supplied with a hydro-elevated surface. You have the opportunity here to decide yourself what surface treatment is to follow laying and sanding. Application of the sealing is done with a brush, a roller or with a spatula. Since this is done manually and not within closed painting lines in the production facilities as is the case with pre-fabricated parquet, it is possible that small dust particles or other small irregularities may occur. As long as these don’t destroy the overall appearance, they should be tolerated. This has no influence on the serviceable life of the lacquer. In most cases, these spots are no longer visible after a short period of use and following appropriate care. You can however have your parquet floor surface waxed or oiled. You should in fact do this in the case of parquet flooring facing heavy use, since in these cases the sealing can only hold up to the heavy use for a short time, leading to the flooring becoming unsightly. The surface protection is done by cold-warm waxing, heat annealing or oiling. Consult your parquet specialist for best results. Please remember that these floors, while also easy to clean, are generally more demanding to care for than with sealed PAMINO parquet. For cleaning and care, please use only those cleaning and care materials that are formulated for our products. |
